  4. Personally, I agree @FitzNigel... perhaps earlier odd shaped coins were representation of existing trade items. However, over time and enormous human usage and experience, the best shape became generally a round disk. No sharp edges, ergo can be carried well in a pocket, pouch (or mouth ๐Ÿ™‚ ), or purse. Generally, over time we all produce items that gravitate to best usage. We humans seem โ€œdownโ€ on round! ๐Ÿ˜„

  8. In my experience in my lifetime traveling internationally, most of the coins that I have handled in transactions have been round. Perhaps humans have settled on that shape is overall best for massive everyday usage, with a few very cool deviations.

  21. Wow, hope you are well, Phil. One of My daughters contracted Covid over this last week, and was purdy sick (she 38). My Grandson is stay at his fatherโ€™s house. My wife is in Florida for the last two weeks, and got Covid really bad for the last week... 103 temp first day, then 99-101 temp for several days. Neither have had been around each other, as my daughter lives on the other side of the State, and my wife is 1,000 miles away right now. This crap is rearing its ugly head again.
