Here's a coin that arrived recently which took awhile to ID. The reverse character on the bottom did not seem to match anything in the standard catalog Cast Chinese Coins by David Hartill. There also were no matches on Numista. I looked through Zeno.ru to find it was an unpublished-by-Hartill variety called "Sleeping Liang" because the reverse character is lying on its side on the bottom. Almost half of the coins from this mint on Zeno have this variety, so it is not rare. It surprises me that Hartill missed this variety.

ID'ing is still going on for this one. My last idea is Thuria but Mantinea is another possibilty:

Next: missing attribution

I have no attribution advice, but it always amazes me how many rare and unpublished Roman provincial coins there are. In a way, it draws me more towards them than the imperial series, although Roman coins are typically outside my budget compared to Eastern coins. Anyways, cool coin!

I got a group lot of mid-poor level Arabic bronze coins thinking most could be easily ID'd. Most have not been, unfortunately. Someday I will try to get sharped picture but I have been surprised this coin was not ID'd on Zeno, it has pretty unique characteristics which one user said pointed maybe to Ilkhanid or Akkoyunlu, but looking through both of those states I found no match. I should do more looking for I may have missed something

This East Asian charm is still not identified fully. There's a question if it is Chinese or Japanese, and another one which is how old it could be. The themes of the charm are generally Chinese but the workmanship seems more like Japanese. The calligraphy seems to poor to be either, but it is intentionally poor which is odd. It appears first, and maybe only, in some Japanese charm catalogs of the late 1800s but this is not indicative as they contain mixed Chinese and Japanese charms. I have yet to find it in a Chinese catalog, but the Japanese catalogs are more abundant, more accessible online, and more comprehensive than Chinese catalogs of the same age. So, shortly, I think it is Japanese but it is not really proven. For the age, I presume something in the 1700s/1800s, early 1800s maybe most likely. I really like this piece.

That was my first guess too, but the three letters are probably ΠAV, not ΠΛAV. So Julia Paula could be a possibility, but I can't find an example with this reverse.
