Beautiful coins!

I don't have any Swiss cantonal gold coins, actually scant Swiss at all for that matter.

Here's a crown, from Bern, that I purchased many a moon ago at a coin show in San Jose:

Switzerland, Bern, 4 franken, 1835.

KM# 199

29.32 grams

For my taste/ these are some of the most beautifull coin designs. Coin #1 is a gorgeous AV 20 Dukaten from Basel/ it sold for 1.2M so out of my league. I could afford to get its tiny relative the AV Quarter Dukat😀

Please add your Swiss Canton coins.....

John, Your 1/4 ducat has a superbly engraved obverse die for a coin weighing less than 1 gram ☺️! When was the coin struck 🤔?

Wow! Is there any gold coin-issuing European country (not counting all the different German states as separate countries) from which you don't have any gold coins?

I never ever thought about that/ glad you brought it up. I do not have any from these present day European sovereign states/

Ireland

Iceland

Luxembourg

Slovenia

Kossovo

Bosnia

Andorra

Ukraine

Estonia

Latvia

Lithuania

But, if you count all the older ones like Livonia/ Courland/ Wallachia/ there are too many to list. I have presently around 1100 AV coins and counting. I LOVE this hobby a LOT!

It was struck in 1741/ like its magnificent bigger brother that AV 20 Dukaten. Even more amzing are the AV 1/32 Dukaten from Stolberg/ Regensburg/ Nürnberg/ they are 5mm and highly detailed designed. Most of the master engravers/ mintmasters were Jewish craftsmen who worked at the mints for the Holy Roman Emperors. Here is my Regensburg 4mm. AV 1/32 Dukat  weight   .07g.   4.5mm.    .986

I think this is a Swiss cantonal? Couldn't find a latest world thread so this seemed like the best place to put it.

I won this 1885 Bern Shooting Thaler from the recent Auctiones eAuction #85, Lot #548. I was bidding on an ancient as well but I saw this and I was like wow. It's my first real world coin other than some random change from vacations. I don't think I'll buy much more, but I can't deny that Swiss dragon is gorgeous.

In my opinion, the Schutzenfest woman is most beautiful woman on a coin. I know people like the Morgan dollar and standing liberty or whatever but I think she is better.
