rrdenarius Posted June 14, 2022 · Member Share Posted June 14, 2022 Not ancient, but I saw one like this while looking for ancient coins and had to have it. The first one I saw was from an Italian company and they would not ship to the US. I am glad another company was willing to ship me a man-eating snake coin. ITALY, Milan. Galeazzo and Barnabo Visconti, 1355-1378 AD. AR Pegione (2.64 gm). Imperial eagle above the arms of the Visconti / St. Ambrose seated facing holding whip and crosier. Biaggi.1457. John Conduitt Posted June 14, 2022 · Supporter Share Posted June 14, 2022 Coin 520...not too far from getting into my holiday change 😁 It's Catherine I...not the Great, the other one. The photo isn't that great either. But I like the style of these, perhaps more than their famous siblings, the 5 kopeks of Elizabeth and Catherine II. These are not as big, but are still sturdy coins. Catherine I Five Kopeks, 1726 Kadashevsky Mint, Moscow. Copper, 32.5mm, 20.81g. ПѦТЬКОПѢЕКЪ (5 Kopeks) / 1725 ГОДА (1725 Year, date upwards) inside a cross. Crowned double-headed eagle, МД in circle, 5 dots around. cwart Posted June 15, 2022 · Member Share Posted June 15, 2022 The random generator selected AM-0016. A folles of Licinius with IOVI CONSERVATORI reverse.Cyzicus mint, minted from 321 to 324 AD. RIC VII Cyzicus 15. Purchased from Augustus Coins last year. I bought this coin for the obverse portrait of Licinius. Something about the somewhat scraggly depicition of his beard just kinda grabbed me and honestly brings a bit of a smile when I see it.
