Benefactor robinjojo Posted July 31, 2022 · Benefactor Benefactor Share Posted July 31, 2022 (edited) My life has been a continuous random selection, so this is easy: Latvia, AR 5 Lati,1931, KM 9. 24.96 grams This is a coin that I owned in the past, but sold it many years ago with other coins to raise funds to buy the house. It has an appealing obverse, so I was glad to acquire another nice example earlier this year. Edited July 31, 2022 by robinjojo
Curtis JJ Posted July 31, 2022 · Supporter Share Posted July 31, 2022 I enjoyed that you actually defined "random" properly and gave a methodology! I used Google's random number generator; on my fourth trial I got an inventory number associated with a photograph (#85). I might not buy this one again, since I've become stricter about sourcing, and this was a bit of a departure from my usual practices. But I do love my tiny archaic fractions. Kings of Lydia, Kroisos (or successors) AR Twelfth Stater (0.88g, 8.5mm). Sardes mint, 561 - 546 BCE (or later). Obv: Confronted foreparts of roaring lion and bull. Rev: Double incuse punch. It's often called a "Helmet Dernier." I may have the wrong class, but it's probably close. Edited August 1, 2022 by ewomack
