Brennos Posted January 13 · Member Share Posted January 13 At first glance, I'd say the last quarter of the 4th century. 5
Deinomenid Posted January 13 · Supporter Share Posted January 13 Agreed. Maybe they were confused by the earlier Aegina turtles, but that's no excuse as they are heavily worn.
NewStyleKing Posted January 13 · Member Share Posted January 13 (edited) Them's not too rare...Ive seen the types in V coins! Locri, Tortoises and turtles of Aegina, boetica....Epirus? federal coinage of one type or another? Corinth got wasted 146BC by the Romans, they could have still been in circulation. Interesting no Athens owls, so probably not a coinage stash but a bullion stash? Edited January 13 by NewStyleKing
Hesiod Posted January 13 · Member Share Posted January 13 Three of those coins are quite rare (6 - Stymphalos, 7 - Argolis, and 20 - Thebes) but the others look fairly common for the area
