Who's Bought from Portugal?

There is a non numismatic item I've been thinking of getting, but it's located in Portugal and I have never bought anything from there. It isn't any great antiquity, more like 1944.

This would also be my first purchase, from over seas, since before Covid struck.

Has anyone bought from Portugal within the last year or two, and if so, how was the experience? Especially when it hit customs? What was the wait time, from mailing, to delivery?

I've bought from plenty of over seas countries before, but never there.

Thanks for any replies.

I have only purchased once from Portugal, coins via an auction. Delivery was slow even though it borders us here in Spain. Doesn´t really relate to your question, but the point was there was no delay with customs probably because it was EU to EU. If you reside in a country outside of the EU it could be vastly different.

That's what I am afraid of. More the speed than the item going missing. It isn't a 3 figure item, but still, would be a shame to see get lost.

I have bought one coin from a dealer in Portugal and was delivered by USPS. Coin flew through the ISC NY and was delivered in like 5 days. The dealer used a signature required form of delivery, not sure of the class of mail.

Edit: I was in California at the time.
