Benefactor KenDorney Posted July 12 · Benefactor Benefactor Share Posted July 12 Both are genuine, the latter with the patina stripped but thats a personal choice. 1
Benefactor Ancient Coin Hunter Posted July 12 · Benefactor Benefactor Share Posted July 12 The Gordian is authentic, no quibbles there. Not so sure on the Severus. But its probably OK. I'd get a few more opinions.
Romismatist Posted July 12 · Member Share Posted July 12 Both look fine to me. Buy whichever one appeals to you the most.
Roman Collector Posted July 12 · Patron Share Posted July 12 (edited) The Gordian III is absolutely fine. The reason it's priced reasonably is that it's a common coin and the demand for Gordian III sestertii is only modest. It's also difficult to attribute because Gordian's titulature is off the flan on the reverse. This lowers the price. Here's mine. It looks Fine to me with a great set o colours Hello @MrZun. I think that, you will get more responses, if you create a separate thread for this coin. For me, adding coins to an existing thread, can be confusing, because it can become difficult to tell, which responses are for which coin.
