There are indeed different strategies for handling the dispatch. I could imagine that Leu Numismatik first packs and prepares all sold lots for dispatch, regardless of the time of payment. Only then are the individual coins dispatched after payment. With over 4000 lots, this can take some time.

Me too, although according to USPS tracking, my package is past Customs and has reached my "regional post office" here in NYC. Perhaps it helps that it's not an ancient coin, but a British coin from the Stuart dynasty.

My Leu wins arrived today, and I have to say being very happy with what I got : a modest, yet struck on a very large flan and well preserved Gordian III :

 

And two beautiful RR denarii, a C. Poblicius Q.f, dated 80 BC with excellent toning and beautiful Hercules strangling the Nemean lion, and a P. Clodius M.f. Turrinus, dated 42 BC with diana reverse

 

Even though it's been a bit slow, it was well worth the wait IMO, and what the heck, the coind have been waiting for me during 2000 years, I can wait for them 3 weks 😄 

Hope you all get what you are expecting in a very short future !!

Mine arrived today, so it took only eight days to travel by Priority Mail from Winterthur to New York City, even though it took three weeks from the auction to the date of mailing. Not so terrible, overall -- I've experienced way worse, as have all of us!

I will post the write-up when I can, this time in the World Coins forum because it's a modern British shilling (dating to 1623-24), together with a couple of other write-ups of 17th century British silver coins that I've never gotten around to before, despite buying them 25 years ago -- on Ebay from CNG, no less. I can procrastinate with the best of them!

Seeing your scan Donna, I have a question. Do you incur import duties for coins imported from other countries, either EU or non EU? 

Some explanation about my question: when I buy coins from non EU counties,. Import duties are levied. That amounts to 9% of the total package value, and addition costs for the shipping company. Import duties for other products can vary, but generally speaking are 20% or up. I have to pay duties to the shipping company that then passes it to the country. Shipping companies however always charge the 20% rate. So far im not successful in getting the over charge returned - but i have only tried it one time.

I won and received Lot 521 about a week ago after 2 weeks in customs. (USA, Shipped July 29, 24 - Received Aug 16, 24)

A nice coin esp as I am a fan of octopuses and it has a provenance to 1904.

However, the provenance they noted is partially incorrect. I only looked into it after I paid. The pedigree is partially incorrect, it is a combination of the two lanz coins listed in its current description.

Lanz 114, 128 - this coin, from Sir Weber and W P Wallace. It also says addendum BCD collection from Lanz, but it's not BCD 318. This is indeed actually Weber 3386 as we have its original image. Also a recent listing for this coin with correct history. Also, when originally bought 1904, Webber 3386, to 2003 Lanz 114, 128 and the 2023 recent listing, they all list it at 4.01 gram, while this is 3.89.

 

Lanz 111, 318 - this is another coin, containing the info related to Ars Classica and Sothebys. This is BCD 318, BCD Eubioa is this sale. Later resold in 2021.

 

I reached out to them and they never responded. I honestly would have paid the same if not more if it only listed Webber 3386 to 1904. Just disappointing.
Good lesson to learn I guess as I recently started, always check even w reputable houses. Atleast its partly correct.
