Victrix Posted July 19 · Member Share Posted July 19 Had this coin completely encrusted in filth and other minerals. Decided to clean it and result is ‘ok’. Am I correct that it’s a durotriges stater? If anyone can give me some more info I’d appreciate it. Thanks 🙏.

DCCR Posted July 19 · Member Share Posted July 19 (edited) That's a different type @Al Kowsky. The Hod Hill staters are struck bronze. @Victrix's stater is billon, which puts it in the Cranborne Chase type. It's one of these with much less silver and more copper: http://tcx3.co.uk/coin/91-cranborne-chase/ (although with the reference ABC 2169. They differentiate between silver and billon, and the one I linked is the silver version) Edited July 19 by DCCR
