Benefactor LONGINUS Posted August 1 · Benefactor Benefactor Share Posted August 1 (edited) Like a centurion in shining armor, ...my latest acquisition—a gleaming ancient Roman Tacitus antoninianus—arrived. Suddenly, the summer doldrums were no match for the thrill of holding history in my hands, jumpstarting the summer slump my collection has been suffering from as of late. My acquisition now finds its place in the bottom right corner of my virtual Roman silver tray. Edited August 1 by LONGINUS 15 3

The coin is cool too. I have one very similar but from officina S. I also really like this recent neck beard addition.

I don't really have a template for my virtual coin trays other than just pulling up an old layout and modifying it to fit however many coins I want to display.
Benefactor Ancient Coin Hunter Posted August 2 · Benefactor Benefactor Share Posted August 2 Nice one @LONGINUS My example of The Neck Beard guy. Whose is more impressive, Gallienus or Tacitus??? My apologies for the lack of info on this coin such as diameter and weight, which I had earlier posted on CT but as you know it is presently still down. IMP C MCL TACITVS AVG LAETITIA AVGG Most of the silvering is intact.
Sulla80 Posted August 3 · Supporter Share Posted August 3 (edited) @LONGINUS, great to see your latest coin and the end of your summer slump. Your virtual tray is beautiful to see. Here are two favorite coins of Tacitus from Lugdunum (Lyon) and Alexandria. Edited August 3 by Sulla80
The Ant Man Posted August 5 · Member Share Posted August 5 Here's my double Ant from Tacitus. I usually only collect Antoninianus but this is such a cool curiosity piece I decided to get one.

Could you post the weight and size of this coin please?

Hence the XI instead of XXI to indicate 10% silver.
