Benefactor robinjojo Posted August 31 · Benefactor Benefactor Share Posted August 31 (edited) Up until today I did not have an example of a denarius of Augustus. So I filled that gap with a trip to my local coin store today. This is probably the most common of denarii. Augustus, denarius, Lugdunum (Lyon) mint, struck 2 BC-AD 12. RIC I, 207 3.76 grams CAESAR AVGVSTVS DIVI F PATER PATRIAE, laureate head right / AVGVSTI F COS DESIG PRINC IVVENT, Gaius and Lucius Caesar standing facing; shields and spears between; simpulum and lituus above; C L CAESARES in exergue. Anaximander Posted September 1 · Member Share Posted September 1 Here's Octavian, first as a Triumvir, then a later issue as Imperator. And as Augustus.
